Get the Look - Update Your Bathroom in 4 Easy Steps

RSS

Often times when we have renovated or redecorated a room we have put a lot of thought, time, and money into that project knowing that it will last for years right? And then one or two years down the road, we start looking for slight change but not to the extent we took the first time around...because who has time and money for that?

Well, we have taken 10 minutes to do a quick "Get the Look" session in Jacki's bathroom that will cost considerably less than a complete redo but give your bathroom a little breathe of fresh air. So let's get started.

1. Replace the Shower Curtain

First things first, the easiest way to change up your bathroom is by replacing your old shower curtain. This alone will do wonders.

I don't know if you feel like your bathroom is grand central station but we all know our bathrooms get used frequently...parents, kids, friends, guests, and maybe even the household pet needs a bath every once in awhile. The potential for your shower curtain to become pretty gnarly in just a couple years is huge.

In just a short year or two it is quite possible that your tastes have changed and you would like to try a pop of color or tone it down and go with more neutrals. Shower curtains are relatively inexpensive compared to a complete renovation...so maybe it's time to invest... Either way the shower curtain is probably the focal point of the bathroom and you want something there that suits your fancy.

In this video we used our Signature Custom Primitive Star Shower Curtain and it is so pretty...I saw it firsthand. The main background fabric is creme with tiny primitive black stars. It also features a top and bottom block border that alternates between an appliqued 5 point star and a 9 block pattern. The coordinating fabrics are just gorgeous and also match the rest of our custom Primitive Star Collection as well as our Kettle Grove Collection.

2. Let Your Hooks Make A Statement

If you would like to up the anty a little, you could consider adding our Black Star Shower Curtain Hooks. They are the sweetest and really make this ensemble complete.

3. Freshen Up Your Walls

The next thing you might want to do is think about the artwork you have on your walls. Is there anything that has been collecting dust for years and looks a little worn. Or maybe you want to change out a twig wreath with a pip berry wreath to give your room or bathroom a touch of warm color. We did this in Jacki's bathroom and it made a big difference. Just that small change...who knew.

So anyway, take inventory and look around. As you can see we added our Do Not Fear pallet art to the wall. I love word art. It is a positive way to be reminded daily of the goodness of the Lord. We carry quite an assortment of artwork in the shop and you can pick a piece for any room in your home that will fit nicely with your decor.

Of course it's up to you how much you want to tackle...you can change everything out or mix new pieces with the old cherished things you already own. That's what makes these 10 minute "Get this Look" projects so fun.

4. Add Fun Accessories

Finally, to finish off your bathroom you can choose a couple of details that are not only beautiful but are functional. Jacki chose our Large Locker Bin to hold three Mason Jars. She organized all the little things in her life like cotton balls, ear swabs, and band aids...it opened up space in her medicine cabinet and it doubles as cute decor.

She also put our sweet Metal Flower Holder on display on a small shelf which brought some color to the room. Of course you are not limited to what Jacki did in her bathroom. Again, you can do as much or as little as you desire. Here are a few other ideas for your bathroom...In the shop we carry these Star Tissue Box Holder, Star Ring Towel Hook, Star Toilet Tissue Holder, and our Mason Jar Soap Dispenser.
